hogwarts legacy tale of rowland oakes Complete Rowland Oakes Quest Walkthrough
The Tale of Rowland Oakes is an engaging side quest in Hogwarts Legacy that takes players deep into goblin territory to rescue a missing student. Initiating this quest requires players to head to the Astronomy Wing of Hogwarts and speak with Adelaide Oakes, who is deeply worried about her uncle's sudden disappearance. Tracking down Rowland requires a careful mix of exploration, puzzle solving, and combat readiness to handle aggressive Ranrok loyalists.
Investigating the Goblin Campsite
Your journey begins by traveling to the campsite indicated on your map along the northern section of the Hogwarts valley. Upon arrival, you will notice the area has been completely overrun by hostile goblins who will attack on sight. After clearing out the enemies, cast Revelio to highlight objects of interest around the abandoned tents.
You will find Rowland's journal and a hand-drawn map resting on top of a wooden crate inside the campsite. This unique map serves as a riddle, providing visual clues rather than standard directional markers to guide you toward his location. Understanding these landmarks is essential for charting the correct course down the riverbank.
Deciphering the Hand Drawn Map
The drawing points players toward a specific bandit castle situated further down the river to the southwest. Follow the flowing water until you reach the Korrow Ruins, a heavily fortified structure guarded by advanced goblin forces. Fighting your way through the outer courtyard will grant you access to the underground dungeon entrance.
If you find yourself struggling with complex navigation or need help with general gaming queries, using the right tools can make a big difference. For instance, the Gemini side panel provides an excellent way to get instant data and tips without disrupting your workflow. Staying organized ensures you can track down every hidden chest while exploring the treacherous Korrow Ruins.
Navigating the Korrow Ruins Dungeon
Once inside the underground complex, sneak or fight your way past the goblin patrols until you reach a large cavern with a locked metal gate. Rowland is trapped behind this door, but you cannot open it without locating his custom magic wand first. Explore the elevated metallic walkways to find the boiler mechanism powering the facility's heavy machinery.
Use Incendio or Confringo to light the furnace underneath the boiler, which builds up steam pressure and unlocks a nearby vault door. Step inside this newly opened chamber to retrieve Rowland's wand from a table guarded by a specialized goblin warrior. With the wand securely in your inventory, return to the containment cell to free the grateful student and complete the quest.
